krsNews arrived this week that hip-hop's Blastmasta legendary scholar KRS-One will be releasing a new EP. The project, titled 'L.A.B. (Lyrical Ass Beating),' features KRS rapping like he never left over A-list producers like Da Beatminerz and even Freddie Foxxx, aka Bumpy Knuckles [Foxxx worked with KRS back in his BDP days].

KRS will also be working on the EP with his biological brother, DJ Kenny Parker. The Parkers haven't worked together since Boogie Down Productions. The EP contains six songs: "Who Da Best," "Omni Hood," "Wolf," "Show Shocked," "Never Afraid," and "Tek-Nology." Each song contains thorough knowledge dropping on behalf of KRS. Knowledge Reigns Supreme after all. The album will be made available on KRS-One's website http://www.KRSOneInc.com.

On the new school side of the spectrum, ATLien B.o.B. debuted at Number One with 'B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray.' The album moved 84,000 units and was the first male solo debut at Number One since Rick Ross' "Port Of Miami", per Rap-Up.com. "The Adventures of Bobby Ray" was fueled by the first single "Nothin On You" featuring Bruno Mars and currently the follow-up single "Airplanes" with Hayley Williams of Paramore and Eminem on the remix.

B.o.B.'s success was years in the making, enduring a bit of a delay while being on T.I.'s Grand Hustle / Atlantic Records. His original single "I'll Be In the Sky" was left off this project, but appeared on a series of mixtapes – both official and unofficial. Websites and DJs formed their own versions of B.o.B. albums in the hopes that the label would take a hint ... and they did. The result is a top selling album. Congratulations, B.o.B!

A veteran and a rookie both saw successes this week. A first in a while for hip-hop.
