Drake Dies In His New Video (Sorta) Yet Manages to Release a New Song

drakeDrake debuted his second single off 'Thank Me Later' late last month and came through fairly quickly with the video. The Kanye West-produced "Find Your Love" sounds like a return to his "Successful" roots combined with hints of Kanye's '808s and Heartbreak' days. The video is pretty dark, taking place in the yards of Jamaica. Mavado plays the lead mobster in a gang where his official girl [video vixen and rumored girlfriend of Drake, Maliah Michel] becomes Drake's love interest. After a warning from the elder statesmen, Drake insists on spending one more night with his onscreen/offscreen dime. What he finds is a head full of lead…so we think. The video ends with Drake handcuffed to a chair as Mavado hands his woman the pistol. She walks behind Drake with the gun to his head and the screen turns black. Shots fired. Did she shoot Drake or Mavado? We don't know.

Maybe we'll find out in "July," the title of Drake's leaked track from yesterday. This song features Drake rapping (he's a songbird in "Find Your Love") still in tune with romantic sentiments. The track is reminiscent of late-90's Hip-Hop/R&B love songs with a girl on the hook (named Jhene Aiko). "Who killed chivalry? They need to get their sentencing," Drake swoons on the track. This track was actually a throwback from 2007. Everyone seems to be coming out of the woodwork sporting old Drake songs before the album drops. 'Thank Me Later' is still slated for a June 15th release. With the exception of "Over", Drake seems to be romanticizing quite a bit on this new album. Sensitive thugs, they all need hugs.
