Soulfly Stream 'Omen'

Former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera has returned with "Omen," the seventh studio album from his current band, Soulfly. The entire album is streaming right now!

'Omen' will be unleashed May 25th via Roadrunner Records, and features all the brutality, tribal percussion, nasty leads and thunder you've come to love from Max Cavalera and his crew. 

"'Omen' is really violent in terms of the lyrics and the music," says Cavalera. "I think this record brings fans closer to Soulfly than ever before. It's got every element that people loved from the last two albums. It's all there, but it goes beyond that. People that liked "Conquer" are going to love "Omen" because there are a couple more surprises."

One of those surprises is special guest Greg Puciato, frontman of Dillinger Escape Plan, who trades off screams with Cavalera on the lead track, "Rise of the Fallen."

"I met Greg during a Deftones show in L.A.," Cavalera says. "I told him that he should drop by the studio if he wanted to sing something. He loved the song from the beginning, but he told me he wanted to make it epic. Greg did the chaotic, high-pitched, The Dillinger Escape Plan vocals, but he also did some melodic vocals at the end that gave the track another dimension. The song blows me away, and it continues the tradition of Soulfly collaborations."

Tommy Victor of Prong, an old friend of Max Cavalera, also guests on the album, singing on the track "Lethal Injection." 

"Tommy did a killer job on the vocals," says Cavalera. "I've loved Prong since the early days. Prong was part of a Pantera tour Sepultura did. It's really cool that he's on this record now."

"Omen" will be released in two formats, the standard edition and a special autographed limited edition CD/DVD which comes with an exclusive download of the track "Kingdom."
