the%20rootsThe Legendary Roots Crew revealed the tracklisting for their ninth studio album 'How I Got Over.' Surprisingly, it's the ninth album and only nine songs. The album, due out June 22nd, is their long-awaited release since catapulting to superstardom as the house band for the surprisingly successful Jimmy Fallon Show. The Roots can probably do a lot with nine songs, but for a band that large (as of right now at least), they could also do a double disc set with a DVD attached. Perhaps they are super busy and decided to cut it short, or they wanted to keep within the "nine" number theme a la Erykah Badu. Years back, the Roots never changed the numbering of the songs from album to album and just kept going in numerical order (for example, 'Organix' began with Track #1 and 'Things Fall Apart' began with Track #54). We'll see what happens with 'How I Got Over.' Here is the final tracklist:

1. Walk Alone
2. Dear God 2.0
3. Radio Daze
4. Now Or Never
5. How I Got Over
6. The Day
7. Right On
8. Doin It Again
9. The Fire

In some not so final news, Game's 'R.E.D.' album was reportedly pushed back yet again to July 6th. Earlier on, 'R.E.D.' was slated for June 15th, the same date as Drake's 'Thank Me Later.' Game didn't see it as competition, rather universal support. "You should go and support hip-hop, go get 'Thank Me Later' and go grab 'R.E.D.' and you good," Game said in an interview. "Then the next week you come back and buy Eminem, great. June is gonna be a big month. So no, it's no competition." Game will share his new release date with Outkast's Big Boi and his 'Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty' plus Nas' ex-wife Kelis' 'Flesh Tone.'
