Slash Will Cover His Whole Career Live

slashSlash has announced that he will be performing a whole slew of older material from his long history on his upcoming tour, including songs from Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver, Slash's Snakepit and music from his new solo album.

Slash credits Myles Kennedy, the vocalist who will be in his touring band, as the reasoning behind the song selections. "He's such an amazing vocalist," Slash said recently. "He can handle all that ‘cause he's got a great range. So I'm really excited, ‘cause before I talked to him, I was auditioning singers for this tour and I figured I'd get it together, but he's just, he's so perfect."

You can get a taste of Myles Kennedy on Slash's new solo album, which features an all-star lineup of special guests, ala Santana's "Supernatural" album. Kennedy sings two songs, "Starlight" and "Back From Cali," and does a phenomenal job on both songs.

I can personally vouch for Kennedy, as I was in attendance at the Roxy in Hollywood, where Slash debuted his new touring band. The club was packed, the crowd was crazy and the Slash-Kennedy duo, while nowhere near the Axl-Slash combo, was outstanding and on point.

While Slash has played a handful of shows with Kennedy and crew in tow, including that debut show at the Roxy and the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, OH this weekend, he has yet to announce a complete tour.

Slash's self-titled, all-star collaboration, scored the highest new entry on the Billboard 200 early last month, with 60,000 copies sold in the first week. It was produced by Eric Valentine, whose worked with Queens of the Stone Age and the All American Rejects. The roster of guests include Ian Astbury, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Grohl, Lemmy Kilmister, Duff McKagan, Kid Rock, M. Shadows, Iggy Pop and others.
