Every week, 101D.com will highlight a new artist in our exclusive Diamonds In The Rough Series. This week, we proudly present Da Pretty Boyz; one helluva talented crew from Jacksonville, Florida who are making a name for themselves on a national level. In fact, BET can't get enough of them!

Background Check: A lot of artists like to claim to be worldly, but thanks to backgrounds as army brats the five members of Da Pretty Boyz really are from all over. Right now Remy, Mack, Cam, Ceasor and Marc rep Duval, Florida, but their time spent traveling has seen the R&B singers develop fan bases in places way outside of their current home town. "Da Pretty Boyz' fan base is not clustered in just one place," they explain, "we have fans in every city/state we have resided in."

The Goods:  Although the group has been strictly R&B in the past they say fans can expect a couple changes to their sound in the near future as they're "in the midst of crossing into new genres, sampling new sounds, and trying different things." Whatever they've been doing, it's been working, as the video for their song "Tonight" has nearly 25,000 views on YouTube, and their label, FBI, has been completely willing to let the group experiment musically in the studio. According to Da Pretty Boyz, "our journey thus far has been long, but great. It has been extremely fun."

Something Worth Waking Up To:  Pulling all-nighters recording can sometimes lead to artists sleeping in the studio. One particularly late night while recording in Atlanta Da Pretty Boyz were too tired to make their way back to their hotel, so they found some comfortable furniture in the building to catch a few z's on. From the looks of their surroundings they figured they were in the lobby. As it turned out, the building they were recording in also housed a dance studio and that was no lobby they were napping in. Da Pretty Boyz remember waking up to quite the sight. "The next morning we woke up to eight half naked pretty women changing in front of us. We came to find out that wasn't the lobby, it was the dressing room." Best alarm clock ever!
