Beyonce%20KnowlesThe nominees for the 52nd Grammy Awards were announced last night in a featured telecast concert that included headliners Nick Jonas with his new bands the Administration and the Black Eyed Peas.

Beyonce led the Grammy pack with ten nominations total, merely advancing Taylor Swift's eight. Lady Gaga's single "Poker Face" and album "The Fame" helped her to five nominations.

The Black Eyed Peas' single "I Gotta Feeling" snagged a Record of the Year nom, as did the Kings of Leon hit "Use Somebody." The southern rockers also scored a nod for Song of the Year.

Elsewhere, Kanye scored six nods, while Jay-Z and DJ David Guetta each earned five.

The Zac Brown Band, R&B singer Keri Hilson, Brooklyn psych-poppers MGMT, Brit duo the Ting Tings, and L.A. rockers the Silversun Pickups dominated the Best New Artists Category, while the year's biggest newcomer, Lady Gaga, was barred from the category; her single "Just Dance" was nominated last year, thus disqualifying her.

The Grammys, which cover 109 categories, are bestowed by the Recording Academy, whose voting members include songwriters, musicians, producers and other music professionals. Just seven of the 109 Grammy categories were announced during the CBS telecast, while the rest of the nominations filled 66 pages handed out to reporters.
