Pop Shots One Year Anniversary Party! By: Adam Bernard Last updated June 23rd , 2010
Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots has a very special announcement - we're one year old! That's right, today marks the one year anniversary of Pop Shots, and I'm proud to have brought you all the news of the pop world, complete with snarky commentary, every Wednesday for the past 52 weeks. Over the course of the next 52 weeks I hope to expand Pop Shots to include interviews along with the news and occasional special edition columns you know and love, but before we get to that I figured a party was in order, so I'm throwing one, RIGHT NOW. Check out who made the guest list with this exclusive live look in at what's going on at the official Pop Shots One Year Anniversary House Party (you had to know I'd be doing this Kid ‘N Play style!).
Lady Gaga and Katy Perry shot each other dirty looks as they walked in the door, with Perry bringing Snoop Dogg and a whole team of "California Gurls" with her, and Gaga wearing what looked to be the shell of a Fiat. Our bouncers for the evening, Ronnie and The Situation from Jersey Shore, did little to stop any potential altercation. Ronnie just laughed and The Situation lifted his shirt up in hopes of distracting them from each other.
I will give the Jersey Shore duo credit, however, for being relentless when it comes to checking IDs as they've already turned Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and the vast majority of the cast of Degrassi away. The Situation DID attempt to lure Holly J into the hot tub, though.
Just to make sure certain folks wouldn't be anywhere near this event we gave the entire cast of The Hills the wrong directions, sending them on a flight to Yemen in search of the party.
Bret Michaels is in the house and hanging out with his former Celebrity Apprentice co-worker Maria Kanellis, but he's taking it easy as he's had a pretty rough year. Things became a little awkward when he walked by the hot tub. The entire cast of last season's Rock of Love are living it up in there, but he resisted he urge to jump in with them. Hey, since he's not going to be doing the show anymore, I figured those fine young ladies might want to start going after a pop columnist, so they made the guest list. Ashley has already harassed the caterer about including basil in the hors d'oeuvres.
Nicole Scherzinger and Shakira were cutting a rug on the dance floor with Justin Timberlake, but shot him down when he tried to offer them a very special gift in a box. Timberlake immediately found his friends the Black Eyed Peas and they all broke into a rendition of their hit "Where Is The Love?" Attack of the Show's Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn videotaped the entire thing so they can give it an Epic Fail later on in the evening.
The Muppets are tending bar in the back and Miss Piggy has cut off Ke$ha early. Apparently the sing-talking sensation came high off of somebody's love and her breath reeked of Jack Daniels. She tried to get Diddy in when she saw him at the door, but he didn't make the list. Hey, we don't need a Shyne situation happening at this event!
In a modern day miracle, the Insane Clown Posse made the guest list, but it looks like they're going to be spending the entire night on the outside looking in anyway as they're having some real troubles figuring out how to work the doorknob. We made one out of magnets just for them.
Drake is trying to holler at Lights with some "we're both Canadian" lines, but she's far too busy working her keytar for the enjoyment of the crowd to pay attention to him. Neil Patrick Harris is in the front row diggin the show with his How I Met Your Mother castmates, while Kid Cudi is getting high in a corner with Harold and Kumar.
The original cast of Saved By The Bell, sans Screech, who isn't welcome to hang with the gang anymore, all arrived together. Slater and Jessie offered to close the evening by singing "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You" while donning Roman warrior costumes, but I told them to just enjoy the party.
I'm being a good host and talking to everyone as Tough Love's Steve Ward attempts to hook me up with some of my favorite dolls from Dollhouse, who are all in attendance and no longer under the control of the evil Rossum Corporation.
Sadly, as soon as Deborah Gibson walked in I realized this party was taking place in a very specific location...
And with that, my time is up for the week. Thank you for your continued readership and for making the first year of Pop Shots a memorable one. Here's to many more, as you know I'll be back next week with more shots on all things pop.

With Memorial Day this coming Monday (May 31, 2010) it's the official kick-off to the summer season and as always it seems that country radio has stuck to their formula for how songs should be played seasonally. In the fall/winter months we are given more ballads about love and loss and everything in between, in the spring and summer we're given fun little 'ditties' that are designed to be nothing more than enjoyab Read More ...

Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from why Miley Cyrus shouldn't be anywhere near your mouth, to why Justin Bieber might be at the BET awards, to why two 80's icons have been spending a lot of time in hospital beds, and since it's Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.
