katy%20perryWelcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. With this edition of Pop Shots running just a few days before New Year's Eve I've decided to put together an invite list to the official Pop Shots New Year's Eve party. Much like our one year anniversary party, it's a hypothetical one. This way we don't have to rent out a nightclub and we don't have to worry about no-shows. Of course, as Pop Shots readers you're all invited. Now it's time to see who else made the list, as well as who didn't make the list, and since it's Pop Shots you know everything will be seasoned with a little bit of attitude.

On The List

Demi Lovato - Every party needs a bouncer and, after the smackdown Demi doled out to one of her backup dancers, we think she'll fit the bill just fine. Hopefully she'll be out of rehab in time for the gig.

Ke$ha - According to "Tik Tok" the party "don't start" till she walks in, so we're definitely going to be sending Ke$ha an invite, we'll just scratch out the actual start time and tell her it's happening three hours earlier so the party will get started quickly. Note to bartender: order extra Jack Daniels just in case she needs to brush her teeth.

Katy Perry - Her whipped cream dispensing boobs will come in handy if the desert chef runs low on toppings. The only downside is we'll have to put up with Russell Brand thinking he's funny, but for whipped cream dispensing boobs it'll be worth it.

Neil Patrick Harris - We REALLY want him to make a run to White Castle for us and bring Harold and Kumar back with him. Yeah, we know, Harris is a father now, but hopefully he'll be able to find a babysitter for a few hours. We needs our Sliders!

Lady Gaga - I think most of us are ready for a momentary break from Gaga (perhaps a month or two), but we really need her at this party so we can cancel some of the catering and just grill her meat dress.

DJ Pauly D - Who else would we have spin at this event than Jersey Shore's resident turntablist? Double bonus, if he's behind the wheels of steel it means he ISN'T hitting on the girls, so the rest of us will have at least a momentary shot with the ladies.

Willow Smith - Why, you may ask, are we inviting the precocious ten year old who sang one of the most grating songs of 2010 to our soiree? Simple, she's only ten, which means her parents would need to bring her, and we REALLY want to hang out with Will and Jada. Heck, Jaden can even come, too, as long as he brings Jackie Chan with him.

The other two guys from LFO - With the untimely passing of LFO frontman Rich Cronin earlier this year we know the other guys from LFO might not be in the best of spirits right now, which is exactly why they're on the list for this event. We'll even get Pauly D to spin "Summer Girls," "Every Other Time" and "Girl on TV."

Off The List

Justin Bieber - Bieber has become the single most annoying male singer on the planet and the last thing we want is him and his swag coach trying to tell people how to be cool. We also don't need him shoving his publicist / management created relationship with Selena Gomez in everybody's face. Sorry kid, you're off the list.

Lindsay Lohan - She gets into fights at rehab, AT REHAB, so why on earth would we want her anywhere near our party? It's not that we don't think our bouncer, Demi, couldn't take her, and believe me, many of us would love to see that fight... in fact, wait a minute, maybe we should bump her up to "On The List" for just that reason.

Nicki Minaj - As much as we'd like to party it up with Nicki, she comes with a lot of baggage - the rest of Young Money, none of whom do we want infecting our festivities with their collective wackness. We'll save a margarita with "salt all around that rim rim rim rim" for her if she wants to roll solo, but if she's with her crew she'll be denied at the door.

Enrique Iglesias - Have you actually listened to the lyrics of "I Like It?" This dude is all about stealing your girl, and we're not cool with that, so Enrique will need to go call up Pitbull and roll with him this New Year's Eve, because neither of them are partying with Pop Shots.

Dr. Dre - Dre is not allowed in the door until he presents us with some evidence that he's actually working on Detox and not just laughing at all of us who've been waiting for it for a freakin decade.

Taylor Swift - As much as we like Taylor, we get the feeling she's the type that would have a couple glasses of juice and go to bed before 11pm. We actually really love the fact that she's NOT a hard partier, and would like to keep her that way for as long as possible. As the nation's perfect little sister, she has to stay little sister-y, so stay away from this party, Taylor, don't ruin your image for us.

Pink - Man oh man do we want to party with Pink, but she is with child now, so she really can't party, and much like how we feel about Taylor, we'd rather she take care of herself than live it up for our sake. Don't worry Pink, you're already on the list for next year.

And with our New Year's Eve party invite list set, my time is up for the week. Have a fantastic new year everyone! I'll be back in 2011 with more shots on all things pop.
